Harry kissed him back as he shifted closer. He pulled back after a few moments, looking at him. "What did you get me..?"
Draco leaned back into the pillows, smiling, "Oh, just a bunch of trinkets. They are in the sitting room."
Harry pouted. "They just have to be in the sitting room. I'm too tired to go there."
"Then you are too tired to open them?" Draco laughed. "I could have Beckett fetch them up here."
"Can he? I'd like that...and I don't have to open them all," he answered, snuggling closer to Draco.
Draco summoned Beckett and in quick order, there was a pile of brightly wrapped presents on the foot of the bed.
Harry got up on his hands and knees a bit shakily and crawled over to sit next to the pile. He had never seen so many presents for just him before. "Draco...there's so much..."
"Well, one of them is for your dog, not you," Draco drawled, smiling at Harry's reaction.
Harry grinned. "He loves you now, you know." Harry reached into the pile and pulled out the first one his hand touched. It was wrapped in sparkling red paper, with a green ribbon.
The small box contained gold cuff links in the shape of lions. Other boxes contained silk shirts and ties, tailored slacks and suits. There were several pair of silk boxes in Gryffindor red. There was even a small dog collar with real silver and gold studs.
Harry went through all of them, a permanent smile on his face. He had to laugh a bit at how many suits he had now. Even though he still preferred jeans out of anything else. There was still one box left, but Harry pushed all the wrapping paper aside and crawled on top of Draco, kissing him. "Thank you so much."
"Mmm," Draco kissed him back, "My pleasure." He wrapped his arms around Harry's waist and pulled the naked man against him.
"There's still one more left," he said softly. He was still tired, but he wanted to put away everything first.
Draco reached for the package but didn't recognize it.
"It doesn't look like the rest of them," Harry realized, noticing the different style of wrapping paper.
Draco looked it over and it had no card. He shrugged and began to unwrap it. He lifted the lid off the gift box and gasped, replacing the lid quickly and breathing through his nose, his teeth clenched.
"What is it?" he asked quickly, looking concerned. He reached for the box and took it out of his hands.
Draco held onto the box. "Don't open it," he said quietly.
"Tell me what it is then..." he said, looking into Draco's eyes.
Draco slid out of the bed and put the box on the table across the room. He breathed deep and walked back to the bed. He sat down next to Harry and took him in his arms again. His heart was beating fast and he was trembling a bit.
Harry held Draco close, his ear pressed against his chest. His eyes were on the box across the room. He waited for Draco to calm down a bit before he asked again what it was.
"Beckett," Draco called, his voice a bit sharp. The elf appeared. Draco pointed to the box. "There was an unmarked gift box. Where did it come from?"
Beckett looked at the box and then back to Draco. "A man brought it to the house."
"What man?" Draco asked sharply.
"I do not know, Master Draco. He wore his hood up and I could not see his face," he answered.
"From now on, you are not to accept any correspondence from unknown parties," Draco said in a cold tone. "Do you understand?"
"Yes, Master," the elf replied, looking a bit surprised.
"Good. Now put Master Harry's gifts away, but do not touch that box," Draco said.
"Draco! Will you please stop ignoring me and tell what was in that box!" Harry said, becoming impatient.
Draco sighed, resting his forehead against Harry's shoulder. "It has a body part in it," he whispered, holding tightly to Harry.
"Oh," Harry muttered, visibly deflating. The box no longer got curious glances, but hateful and disgusted ones.
"I will get dressed and take it over to St. Mungos. I think it is related to the case. It is a heart," he said, still shaking.
"Do you have to now? It's Christmas, Draco...”
Draco sighed, "Do you really want to keep that here in the house?"
"Have Beckett put it somewhere else ... or have someone floo here, just...don't go, Draco," he said softly.
Draco nodded. "Let me put it in my study for now, then," he said.
"Okay...okay, Draco." He sat back on the bed.
Draco put on his robe, then Apparated with the box and left in his study, returning a few minutes later. Beckett had the other gifts cleared by the time Draco returned. The blonde dropped his robe and climbed back into bed, pulling Harry to him and shivering.
"I'm sorry," he murmured, running his hand over Draco's chest.
"I think it is related to the case," Draco said quietly. "I think whoever it is wanted us to know they know who we are."
Harry was quiet for a long moment, his eyes blinking rapidly against Draco's chest. "We have to get him," he whispered finally. His arms tightened around Draco. There was no way he was going to let another person he loved get hurt.
"Yes, we do," Draco whispered. "And I want you to be more careful. Maybe let Beckett walk the dog for a while."
"Okay...I...we'll be fine," he said, trying to reassure them both.
Draco didn't say anything aloud, instead he kissed Harry deeply.
